The Nanoose Naturalists is a Vancouver Island naturalist club dedicated to the study, enjoyment, and preservation of our local bio-diverse ecosystems. Our Club was founded in 2002 and is one of 53 nature clubs in BC with a total of over 5,000 members. These nature clubs are all affiliated to the Federation of BC Naturalists, or “BC Nature.”
The Club meets at 7:00PM in the Nanoose Bay Library, 2489 Nanoose Rd., on the second Thursday of every month except July and August . Outings are arranged on a regular basis.
The Club is dedicated to:
- Fostering a public awareness, appreciation, and understanding of our natural environment, and to promote a better understanding of the value of our heritage in nature so that it may be wisely used and maintained for future generations;
- Wherever practical and within the current legal and legislative framework, to preserve wildlife and protect its natural habitat;
- Supporting and cooperating with organizations and individuals having similar interests and objectives.
