Debbie
Goodman creates portraits of birds and wild animals at her home studio
overlooking Nanoose Bay. She works in the medium of paper collage, and
her artwork is for sale in selected shops from Qualicum Beach to
Nanaimo.
Debbie is
inspired by the natural world, and devoted to its preservation. She is a
volunteer naturalist at the Morrell Sanctuary in Nanaimo, and donates
all profits from the sale of her artwork to charities that support
animal welfare and conservation.
Originally
from Colorado, Debbie retired early from her profession as a chemical
engineer, and studied art fundamentals at the University of Utah. She
gained familiarity with birds and wildlife during ten years of volunteer
work for Utah Division of Wildlife Resources and five years of
legislative lobbying for the Utah Audubon Council.
She and
her husband immigrated to Canada in early 2009, and are delighted to be
living on Vancouver Island.
