Biography:

 

Greg Thomas has  worked for the Department of Fisheries and Oceans since the late 70's in a number places in B.C. including Nanaimo, Vancouver, and Prince Rupert.  He started work at the Pacific Biological Station as a technician for salmon, groundfish and then shellfish research groups.  Subsequently, he moved into resource management positions in Prince Rupert dealing first with salmon, then with shellfish and herring.  He was responsible for coordination of Pacific Regional herring fisheries for a number of years and is now responsible for management of salmon, shellfish, and pelagic fisheries on Vancouver Island.
